Jock Atkins Waterfall is roughly a 22 minutes’ drive away from Upper Hutt, or 45 minutes’ from Wellington. The road surface is sealed.

From Upper Hutt travel north along the SH2. In Brown Owl slide left onto Akatarawa Rd and follow it for the next 7.9km.
There is a road-sign ‘ Jock Atkins Waterfall‘ 200-300m before the actual waterfall.

The waterfall is seen from the road. There is a small pullout area nearby, where you can park your car. The waterfall is quite tall, probably 15-20m, but unfortunately only the lower part is visible.
