Walking and driving instructions
Joes Creek Falls is roughly a 1hour 45minutes' drive away from Wanaka. The road surface is always sealed. If you drive from Wanaka, head north-west on the SH-6 (Haast Highway) for 126km until you see a waterfall (to your left) on the Joes Creek. The bridge over the Joes Creek is signed ('Joes Creek'), and the best view of the waterfall is near this bridge. There is neither official car park, nor other facilities there. With care, park your car on a side of the road and walk to the best view of the waterfall. The waterfall is stunning after/during a rain. Best time to capture a photo - after heavy rain. |
