Walking and driving instructions
|

Diana Falls is roughly 1 hour 10 minutes' drive away from Wanaka. The road surface is always sealed. From Wanaka head north on the SH-6 for 90 km. A small un-official car park is on your right on Haast HW, just before the bridge over The Trickle. Important: due to a major landslide happened in 2014 the car park has been destroyed. We are not sure whether it's been re-built. Actually, there are two waterfalls, and both are seen from the road - Diana Falls (on the main photo) and a companion waterfall (first photos on the Gallery). There is no track to these waterfalls. If you can park your car, you can walk along the highway to the waterfall's base; otherwise, you can see the waterfalls from a car. |
