Walking and driving instructions

Centennial Gardens Waterfall is roughly a 2-minutes’ drive away from Napier City Centre. The road surface is always sealed.

From Napier Centre travel north on the SH-50 (Marine Parade which becomes Breakwater Rd) until you reach an intersection with Coote Rd. You can park your car safely on Marine Parade, or on Coote Rd. Toilets and heaps of benches are available at the Centennial Gardens.

If you leave your car on Marine Parade, cross the road, then cross Coote Rd and enter into the Centennial Gardens. As soon as you’re in the Gardens, you’ll hear the waterfall. Follow the walk-path which leads to the upper pool and the bridge. In 5 minutes you’ll reach the bridge which provides an excellent view of the waterfall.

A closer approach is possible. Just follow the official walk-path which leads to the waterfall’s base. Return via the same track.

The best colorful photos can be taken during late autumn or early winter.
