From Auckland head south on the SH-1 until you reach Hamilton. In Hamilton keep to SH-1, cross the Waikato River, then you’ll the Botanic Gardens on your right. Follow the SH-1 for one more km, then on round-about turn right to the ‘Gate 1’ entrance and follow the signs until you reach the official parking (roughly 500m). There is a huge parking area with additional parking available on the grass. Toilets, cafe, and picnic tables are available in the Botanic Gardens.
