Marshalls Falls is roughly a 20 minutes' drive away from Tauranga or 1.5 hours' from Hamilton. The road surface is always sealed. Only a park road is unsealed.

From Tauranga travel east on the SH-29 for 18 km, then turn left into McLaren Falls Rd and follow it for the next 1.5 km. Then turn right to 'McLaren Falls Park' /'Marshalls Animal Park'. Follow the road through the park for 1 km until you reach a car park with 'Waterfall Track' sign. There are a dedicated place for a picnic and toilets there.

An easy walking Waterfall Track starts from the parking, follows the stream and leads to a wooden waterfall's viewing platform. It takes just 10 min to reach the waterfall.

Return via the same track, or follow the other side of the river (the walk is a loop), so on the way back to the parking you may see Glow Worms (we've seen only the sign 'Glow-worms' but didn't see any worms there :) ).
