Mirror Lake WaterfallsMirror Lake Waterfalls is a series of unofficially named waterfalls accessible on the second day of the world famous Milford Track. The waterfalls appear after 15-30 minutes’ of walk from Castle Mount Waterfalls and, probably, are seen only during summer time, but during this time it's one of the most impressive things that you will see along the Milford Track.

Walking and driving instructions
There is only one way to approach these waterfalls - walk the Milford Track (only DOC individual walks and guided walks are available. DOC huts must be booked in advance). You need to organize a transport to Te Anau Downs where the track starts; then a transport from Milford Sound where the track finishes. Transport can be easily booked as part of Milford Track booking via official DOC site. Mirror Lake Waterfalls are approached on the second day of the journey, but there are other waterfalls which are accessible along Milford Track. Mirror Lake Waterfalls is a series of unofficially named waterfalls which reached after a few minutes’ of walk from St Quintin Falls. They are seen on the left hand side. The best views of the waterfalls is available in avalanche zones. Please be very careful and do not to stay there for long. The waterfalls drop down from an unknown mount (we are referring to Topo maps), more or less near Mirror Lake. That's why we call them 'Mirror Lake Waterfalls'. Bear in mind that the waterfalls are located not exactly near Mirror Lake. You'll require to walk 15-30 minutes from these waterfalls to reach the lake. |
