Walking and driving instructions
Cascades Falls is located about a 40-minute drive from Auckland City. The road is sealed for most of the journey, except for the final 2 km, which is gravel. To get there from Auckland, take the route toward Bethells Beach. From Te Henga Road, turn left onto Falls Road, which leads to a car park at the end. The car park is equipped with toilets and a well-maintained picnic area. From the car park, follow the clearly marked and easy Auckland City Walk. When you see a sign 'Falls,' take the side track that climbs up to the waterfall. The walk to the falls takes around 20 to 30 minutes. You can return via the same path or continue along the Auckland City Walk loop, which takes about the same amount of time. At the end of the track, a large rock partially blocks the view of the waterfall. To get a better look, you’ll need to either climb the rock or wade into the water. The natural pool at the base of the falls is a popular swimming spot for locals. If you plan to swim, be sure to bring proper footwear and a towel. Exercise caution, as the rocks are often slippery. |
