Walking and driving instructions

Waitangi Falls is roughly a 50-minutes' drive away from Auckland City or just 15-minutes from Pukekohe. The road surface is always sealed.

From Auckland head south on the SH-1, then turn right onto the SH-22 (to Pukekohe) and follow it for the next 7 km, then turn right into Glenbrook Rd and follow it for the next 16.5 km. Turn right into Waitangi Falls Rd. A carpark is on your right at the end of Waitangi Falls Rd. There is a nice picnic area there with a couple of tables (no toilets).

The waterfall is seen from the carpark. From the carpark you will see two picnic tables: descend to the one on your left. On you right is an excellent view of the waterfall, however on your left is a hidden track which descends to the falls base. It's safe enough to walk to the waterfall's base and swim in the pool. In a rainy (wet) weather it can be quite muddy and slippery, hence the proper shoes are must have.

The swimming spot at the base of the falls is extremely popular among the locals. So don't forget your towel.
