A 30 metre waterfall, Roaring Billy Falls is located in Mt Aspiring National Park, along HAAST Highway. This is typical cascades waterfall, which follows into the crystal clear Haast River. Most beautiful after a rain.
Walking and driving instructions
An easy all vehicle types’ drive takes roughly 1.5 hours from Wanaka. The road surface is always sealed.
There is a car park on Haast HW with sign “Roaring Billy Falls”, but without any facilities.
An easy 40 minutes return Roaring Billy Falls Walk is leading to the waterfalls lookout.
The waterfall is located on the other river shore, but you don't require to cross the river since the waterfall is fully seen from the lookout.
