Ototoka Falls, which consist of the Upper and Lower waterfalls, are found on the Ototoka Stream, along the walk leading to remote Ototoka Beach.

Walking and driving instructions

 

Ototoka Falls is roughly a 30 minutes' drive away from Whanganui. The road surface is unsealed for the last 7.3km.

From Whanganui travel north-west on the SH-3 for 5km. Then turn left onto Rapanui Rd and follow it for 9.5km. Continue on to Handley Rd, which is a gravel road, and it becomes Ototoka Beach Rd in 4.5km. Follow Ototoka Beach Rd for the next 3.2km until you reach Ototoka beach car park. There are no toilets there.

From the parking follow the walk which leads to the beach. In 2 minutes you will reach the Upper Falls, and in 5 minutes the Lower one.
