Walking and driving instructions

Ohau Falls is roughly a 20-minutes drive away from Kaikoura or 1.5 hours from Blenheim. The road surface is always sealed.

From Kaikoura take State Hwy 1 for 26km, then park your car on the left side of the road where you find a small car park and a sign 'Ohau Falls'. There are no any facilities there.

It takes just 10 minutes to reach the waterfall’s base. The walk is very easy and suitable for the people with all abilities. The waterfall is a very popular place because seal pups travel up the creek and stay in the waterfall's pool.

Note: due to a strong earthquake (14 Nov 2016) the track to the falls is closed
